I had it installed in 2011 at ford dealer. Will a computer reset by disconnecting the battery bring back on. It does not appear to turn on. I am getting a new transmission and I want to make sure that is ok to be pulled behind motorhome. It is a 4wd and the transmission does not engage in 4 wheel drive anymore.
How long has your 2011 Ford Ranger had this problem?

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. If I am not mistaken, the neutral tow kit for this vehicle is purely electronic - shifting the transfer case into neutral electronically, with the indicator saying as much. If it's not working, it sounds like some kind of programming procedure may be necessary for the PCM. I do not expect a battery disconnect will restore something that is not working - if that's the case.
