What is your question?
The rubber elbow on the PCV valve assmbly was toast. I have the new complete assembly which includes the long plastic tube that goes into the top of the intake manifold from the rear. The question is simply - how do you take the old plastic tube out and more importantly, insert the new one --- simply not enough room between the opening in the back of the manifold and the firewall! The only solution I can see is the removal of the top half of the manifold! Any YouTube videos out there showing this procedure? Or at least a service procedure spelling it all out!
What makes this problem better or worse?
Better if somebody has replaced these - worse if there is no response! Help!
How long has your 2003 Ford Ranger had this problem?

Hi this is Dusty, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Ah, the joys of DIY car maintenance! Dealing with those pesky rubber elbows and plastic tubes can seem to be a real nuisance, especially when they're crammed in tight spaces like the back of the manifold. But rest assured, it's actually a straightforward process. You'll definitely need to remove the intake manifold to gain access, so be sure to replace the gasket to avoid doing the job twice. While I don't have a specific YouTube video to point you to, I can a search for '2003 ford ranger 3.0 pcv valve pipe' and found some very thoughtfully laid out videos (a couple of series of videos in great detail) of the processes. And if all else fails, reaching out to fellow Ranger owners on forums or communities might yield some helpful insights or tips from those who've been in your shoes. Hang in there, be patient and you'll have this done in no time at all.
