can't get the cluch to bleed

try gravity bleeding first - then get a helper and bleed it like a brake system.

Have you done the bench bleed prior to the install. i did the clutch kit on my buddys 92 for explorer and i did it every way u could think and when i finally gave up and removed the clutch master and used a syringe to fill that and the slave cylinder then installed and then the bleed was a piece of cake
