My '90 ranger will cut off when put in reverse after engine's temp. increases?

Hello, engine temperature may or may not play a factor here. You'll need to find out if your vehicle is losing spark, fuel or air when this happens. It could also be some kind of transmission related concern, causing an engine stall. Too hard to tell without hands on testing. If the temperature is getting too high, diagnosing the cooling system is important also.
