Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! It sounds like you’ve got a couple of electrical gremlins haunting your 2007 Ford Mustang. Since the wipers are misbehaving and even coming on without the key in the ignition, the problem could be related to the wiper relay or the multifunction switch. A malfunctioning relay could be sending power to the wipers when it shouldn’t, causing them to turn on randomly. The fact that the wiper motor was replaced recently makes me think you might have a wiring issue or a short somewhere in the circuit. It could also be the wiper control module, which works in conjunction with the relay. If that module is on the fritz, it could be causing both the failure to operate and the random activation. At this point, I’d recommend checking the wiper relay and the wiring to ensure everything is in proper working order. A diagnostic scan might also help track down any electrical issues hiding in the system.
