'06 mustang ticking sound, bad vibration under power

My 06 mustang has recently developed a bad ticking/knocking sound when in motion but not under power, and when I put it in gear the whole car vibrates badly. It's gone from 'huh' to 'what the heck?' in about a week. The knocking sound only happens when it's out of gear, or clutch is pushed in. Vibration is bad enough to drown out the engine noise at 50 mph, but sometimes it's like it hits a calm moment where it's fine for a few. Help?
