I don't know what a used computer would cost, you'd have to call around at some auto parts recyclers (junkyards) for that. Prices coud vary widely. As for as a csuse for the computer failure (if it really has failed), a few things come to mind. One is jumping a dead battery with the polarity reversed. That can take out any electrical device in he car. Another reaon would be water intrusion. Myself, before I'd try to sell a computer, I'd be real sure that it's getting power and ground and all the connections are good first. If you were to pull a connector off it and you could see corrosion, it's probably been wet. If you want a second opinion, here's a directory link for you to find a Ford specialist. You could also go to an auto electrical shop. http://repairpal.com/ford-repair-in-tucson-arizona
before you jump into the computer.....make sure the fuel pump roll over switch isnot in the off position as this will make the mustang not start it is in the trunk on the left side i believe. Also be sure about this as the computer may have to be re programmed if the battery went dead went, ask a ford dealer.
