How much should it cost to replace a head gasket and is it worth replacing?

i will buy it from ya i can change them myself it can be hard sometimes the cost would be about 600-1000 depending what shop is tryin to rob you or put a v8 in it that would be your best bet and make it worth more

I did this repair myself (with the help of a machine shop, of course) about 6 years ago, and have been enjoying my economical V6 ragtop ever since. The cost is high, but you have to compare it to the cost of finding and owning another nice ragtop. As cars of this vintage go, you've got to move all the way up to BMW to find as nice a ride. All because Ford didn't do all the engineering that year. I did read about a "chemical" method while researching the problem, and it looked promising - a lot cheaper and simpler, but still a bit complicated as "chemical" solutions go. Google it well before you decide.
