turning wheel makes thud noise and wheel or column jerks

when I turn the wheel even a little it makes a thud noise and the wheel Jenks like something in the column isn't connecting properly

Hello, nothing to be said here other than to have your vehicle inspected immediately before attempting to drive again. Something is not right and is a major safety issue. It very much could be related to the repairs recently performed.
