What is your question?
2016 Ford Fusion Energi. I can’t figure out how to remove the black trim piece from my side mirror. That piece is damaged and I would like to replace it. I can’t figure out how to get to the bottom screw that holds the frame on. I removed the back, the mirror, the mirror motor, the turn signal and the puddle light and still can see the back of the screw I need to get to. How do you get to the bottom screw? There are no videos on YouTube that address this particular part. Can anyone help me?

Hey, my name is Dusty and I'm one of the auto experts with RepairPal's Car Genius team here to help! Some of these new mirror assemblies are like the world's worst jigsaw puzzle, so you're not alone in your frustration. And it sounds like you're on the right track, although I could not pinpoint the specific piece you're trying to replace, most of the mirror assemblies I came across were painted to match with no black trim other than the surround of the mirror. Since you can see the end of the screw, that's a good sign, I checked out some videos for other repairs and modifications that recommended removing the remaining screws holding the base of the mirror to allow the adjacent components to be wiggled out of the way. Hopefully, that helps, if not and you have other questions or would like help with finding a RepairPal Certified shop in your area, give us a call! 877-913-1554
