Hi this is Dusty, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team! It's recommended to have the shocks replaced in pairs (along with the mounts) since they've both taken their share of bumps in road. I'd also recommend a 4-wheel alignment as suspension angles can change when replacing worn suspension components, and it'll extend the life of your tires. As for the costs in your area, using OEM (Ford) parts we show the replacement of the shocks in the $419-$482 range. If the vehicle has rust that would interfere with the expected time for completion, there may be additional labor involved. The shock/strut mounts, alignment, diagnosis, taxes, and fees aren't included in the estimate, these factors can vary in each case.
