Hello, I’m Pete from the Car Genius team at RepairPal. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this concern on your Ford Fusion. Based on the information provided it sounds like this may be your engine cooling fan that is running after you turn off your engine which in a way makes sense with the engine trying to overheat. The computer is most likely sensing that the engine is running hot so it keeps the fan running to try and cool it and in many cases will do this with the engine turned off after driving it. The overheating concern can be caused by various different reasons ranging from low coolant due to a coolant leak, a failing thermostat, a water pump that isn't circulating properly, a restriction in the cooling system, or in some cases even a mechanical issue within the engine itself. I recommend having this checked into as soon as you can to correct the overheating and fan concern as well as to prevent damage to any of the engine or cooling system components. This is something that may be best to have checked by a reputable repair facility where they will have the needed equipment to perform the testing to pinpoint and resolve this concern.
