What is your question?
the headlights and the reverse lights stay on all the time unless the parking break is applied, they won't shut off, even though the switch for the headlights is set to off and the vehicle itself is in park, it is draining the battery to a point I now need to get a new one because it is dead dead, and won't hold a charge anymore, and the parking break must be applied before the vehicle will start otherwise it won't start with the lamps active.
What makes this problem better or worse?
parking break must be on to start the car, as parking break seems to disable the lights
How long has your 2007 Ford Freestyle had this problem?
Just got the car yesterday

Since applying the PARK BRAKE turns the headlights off - this is obviously a problem within the DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS system - - which will require *hands-on* testing / evaluation by qualified personnel.. As for the reverse lights - that is another issue that will need to be addressed *hands-on* by the same qualified personnel.. Good luck!
I see you recently purchased this vehicle - - recommend reviewing the owner manual for specific details about the vehicle..
