it's in the Limp Mode...Testimony July,2010 A defective electronic throttle body (ETB) can cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate and could have limited to no throttle response. Our technicians tell us that replacing the electronic throttle body may or may not correct this concern.replaced it in 2010,cost me $1000.00!!!problem came back!!! Transmission out now.it was $6000.00!!!! Class Action Law Suit Started!!!! Testimony The only way we can make sure the dealer fixes these problems is to call the Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 1-888-327-4236 and file a complaint. After they review the complaint they have the authority to request that the Dealer issues a recall and fix the issues. I just did this myself and it took me about 20 minutes, however, a case number was sent to me immediately. If we all take 20 minutes of our time, we can have Ford fix these problems and who knows? maybe even save somebody's life...
Folks let me just say. I have been on the phone with Ford more times than I can count. It's amazing that the same part in other cars have had a full recall and replacement has been of no charge to those owners. However amazingly outs did not fall under a replacement recall but a customer satisfaction where the clean and reset the computer. I've been on the phone with NHTSA. I've also looked up the complaint, investigation etc. and it states they are satisfied with Firds fix. However that is not a fix its a bandaid. Please everyone call Ford Corp. and NHTSA AND REPORT THE PROBLEM!! They can be forced to fix this issue and reimburse those who paid for it out of pocket. I saw something about a class action lawsuit. Whoever posted that if you have the info on it is like to add my name and complaint. You can send the info to my email srmcleod122@yahoo.com. I found I had the problem the first time when my car almost accelerated into the side of my house. I had the customer satisfaction program. Not satisfied. Less than a year later my car stopped excel staton. As if I had suddenly ran out of gas. No control over steering anything while my daughter and I were on the road. I could not get my car in a safe place and was in a merge lane. I was scared to death that we were gonna get hit. Ford needs to make this right. I'd also like to add. My motor had to be replaced at less than 100,000 miles and my AC has a problem several are reporting won't work unless you excelerate. This car has several problems and Ford has refused to admit and address. The throttle body issue is a safety issue and no one should have to die before Ford does something. Please report your problems to NHTSA. We all deserve justice for what Ford refuses to admit is a safety issue. I personally know 2 other people that's had this problem. One had to replace at their cost. And another was covered under replacement recall.
I had the throttle body replaced and drove it 100 miles and the wrench light came on, Now the servicemen are saying that they need to replace the Mechatronic Unit. It will cost another $800.00 for that. Has anyone replaced the Mechatronic Unit in the Ford 2006 Freestyle? Is it worth it to sink good money into bad?? Also, just off line with Ford, they said there are No Recalls and do not admit there is a huge problem and they don't care.
I replaced throttle body and peddle sensor my only car need fixed
call the number above to the NHTSA,see what they have to say...
