What is your question?
The problem occurs often if the vehicle has been on for a bit I’ll be driving and my dashboard kicks off with the lights and the other things I listed. I turn it off and try to turn it back on and it won’t the only thing that kicks on is the fan. A few hours will pass and the vehicle can turn back on everything back to normal. But say when my dashboard goes out and if I continue driving the driving is still smooth just non of the electrical works no blinker no beside the right side break light and the left side front light. I bought a new battery and I got the alternator tested and it was in good condition.
What makes this problem better or worse?
It seems worse when it’s hot outside but not 100% sure
How long has your 2014 Ford Focus had this problem?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Focus. From what you're describing—dashboard cutting out, lights and signals failing, and the car not restarting for hours— you may be dealing with a failing body control module (BCM) or an intermittent fault in your car's wiring or connections. Temperature can affect the integrity of electrical circuits so it's very possible that the problem is worse when it's hot out. Scanning the car for stored codes would be a good place to start and may point you in the right direction. Due to the intermittent nature of the concerns, it may be best to have trusted repair shop perform some diagnostic testing. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered. Give us a call at 877-913-1554, and we will happily help you out!
