Gear shift cable came out how do I fix it

Hello, Whether automatic or manual, you will have to determine what broke that allowed the shift cable to become dislodged. If the cable is the broken portion, excellent, replace it with new and you're off to the races. If the mounting location for the cable is broken, you may get lucky and need a clip, or you need a technician. If that is not specific enough, let me know if it is manual or automatic, if the entire shifter came out, and where the cable is disconnected from.
