PCV hose leak and loud pop and loud knocking noise from engine now?

This could be a backfire through the intake manifold. However, I would not expect a knocking noise afterwards. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to narrow this down without hands/eyes/ears on the vehicle. Take it to one of the certified shops in your area, and get an honest diagnosis and estimate.
