What is your question?
Transmission lost all gears, no engaging.

It all depends on which engine your ZX3 is equipped with. The 2.0L SPI engine (VIN code is a P) is equipped with an "iB5" manual transmission. The 2.0L ZETEC engine (VIN code is a 3) is equipped with the MTX75 manual transmission. But, if you have a manual transmission and there is "no engaging" perhaps this is a clutch issue?
I have the Zetec 2.0L. With the mtx-75 trans. After the shift tower change, later part of '02. 08/02 manufacturer date.
I was going to replace the trans anyway. Gears grinding, fluid leaking from where it was bolted to the motor. I already have a new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing with slave cylinder. 2002 was a retarded year for them to change the shift tower. I just bought a trans for the beginning of that year.
Manual transmission don't typically "go bad". The internal components are all mechanical. The shift fork, the bearings and the synchros are all possible for wear, but other than that, it's just a mechanical set of gears. Just not sure why you'd go changing the transmission unless you knew something internally was a concern. Good luck.
Thank you sir. Leaking fluid, plus going into 2nd and 3rd gears grinding. Synchros I think were going out. Had 174K on this trans as well. Previous owner didn't take care of it well. Was leaking when I got it.
