internal wear damage,ignition coil has weak spark

my timing belt was not fixed right, so yesterday a terrible sound came from under the hood, I took it to pep boys for a dianostic and I have internal wear damage,oil was leaking internally, they told me I would have to have a new engine, smoke was coming out of the exhaust, is there anything else I can do before I junk it.
