engine light on dash bord

engine light went on as i drove...stayed on next day....checked fuel cap...after 3 days is still on...just had car service for new timing belt and water pump and pvc and fixed an oil leek....

You should take it back to the shop that performed the recent work. Or you can have the codes read out and post them here and someone can give you an idea as to what the problem is.

It could also be on because of a bad thermostat. It happened to me.
