What is your question?
Hi, My Mother Just Gave Me Her 2013 Ford Fiesta That She Bought Brand New Back In 2013. She Had To Quit Driving Die To Her Age Of 79. She Was The Only Owner And Always Maintained The Car Mechanically. It Only Has 57,000 Miles. (not near enough miles to be having major transmission problema) Except That She Is A 2 Footed Driver. Not Good For An Automatíc Transmission And She Has Already Went Through 4 Sets Of Brake Pads. Anyways….. It Hasn’t Even Been 2 Weeks That I’ve Had The Car And It Ran Perfectly Fine And Then I Went To My Parents And When I Got Back In The Car And Went To Leave, The Car Would Not Go In Reverse. And 1st And 2nd Gear Were Engaging Very Very Ruffly. So Just To Be Certain I Stopped About A Mile Down The Road and Put It In Park Then Tried To Put It In Reverse Again And Still It Wouldnt Go Into Reverse So I Took Off Again Hoping To Make It Home And Again 1st And 2nd Gear Engaged Very Ruffly. I Had A Mechanic Look At It And He Had No Problems But It Is Doing It Again.
What makes this problem better or worse?
I Bought A New/Used Transmission Thinking That Was The Problem But It Is Not It. The First Week I Had It I Was Having Some Kind Of Short Or Something Because I Was Driving Down The Road(55 nph) An The

Hi - I am Dave, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. This vehicle utilizes a dual clutch transmission which has certain characteristics that feel and seem different than your typical automatic transmission. First and second gear engagement and shifting can often be harsh and jerky. A "fix" of calibrating the transmission better can be performed using a Ford diagnostic tool and following a certain procedure. This will not "fix" anything but can make the transmission be a bit more tame. As far as no reverse engagement - this is something that requires troubleshooting, as this is certainly not acceptable. A hands on diagnostic test should be performed by a skilled technician equipped with the necessary diagnostic tools and equipment required. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link to find some shops near you who can help out!
