I have a 1990 f250 4x4 ext cab trans shifts all over the place speedo needle off

What is your question?

trans wont shift until I back off the gas, speedo needle jumps all around,dash lights are dim

What makes this problem better or worse?

I just got the truck and the original owner didn,t say anything, 48k miles
