2003 Ford F-250 super duty truck. Truck temp will rise to hot when moving at steady speed or sitting idle.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Idle or constant speed. When RPMs rise it will cool off

Since raising engine rpms lowers coolant temperature - insufficient airflow into the engine bay is suspect - first thing to check is the radiator cooling fan operation. Other possibilities certainly exist.
Fan ‘centrifugal clutch’ malfunction.
