How to disengage proximity alert

Hello, there should be a method to turn it off - but it will likely need to be toggled off every time you get in the vehicle. I do not know of a way it can be toggled off as default setting. You may want to go through your owner's manual for this, or consult your local Ford dealership for further guidance on the available settings. It could also (maybe) be a programmable parameter within a body module using Ford's diagnostic tool.
