HELP ME PLEASE!!! I purchased a 2006 Ford F-150 a couple months ago & I started noticing a rough idle & started hearing a ticking so I have changed the oil & oil filter in it. The guy that I bought it from said that he had replaced VVT solenoid & gasket seal cover recently but it keeps blowing that VVT solenoid gasket seal cover out of the valve. We thought possibly the VVT solenoid he replaced was faulty so we went & got a new one & replaced the VVT solenoid & put a new gasket seal cover in it but within 5-10 mainutes of driving the truck it blows right out again & there is oil mess everywhere on the drivers side under the hood. We realize that the reason the gasket seal cover is blowing out is because of pressure build up & that is the easiest place for the pressuret also blows smoke out of the oil fill cap when removed while the truck is running . This is a 5.4 Triton 3 valve motor. Ticking & start up rattle when starting the truck & loss of power during acceleration while driving.
What makes this problem better or worse?
We really don’t know of anything
How long has your 2006 Ford F-150 had this problem?
I just started noticing this a couple weeks ago & I haven’t driven it at all in 12 days because I didn’t want to make the problem worse or other issues to arise.
