Spark plugs and alternator don't do anything when it comes to having electrical power in the first place. With the engine not running, there should still be electrical power provided to the horn at the very least. What you are experiencing is either a battery that has no output at all or not enough to activate any electrical component operation, or you're having an issue with cabling. Or perhaps a maxi-fuse has blown. Check the power distribution box under the hood and check all the maxi-fuses to make sure nothing is blown. Check all battery cables to ensure they are entirely secure and free of any corrosion. One of those areas will reveal a source to your problem.
