What is your question?
I can pull my key out of the ignition in both locations was just wondering what location was the correct one. Having a problem with the battery going dead and I remember having a car and if you turn the key all the way back, you could listen to the radio with car off. Just wondering if this might be the problem I’m having with the battery
What makes this problem better or worse?
If I crank daily it’s ok
How long has your 2001 Ford F-150 had this problem?
This is a rebuilt engine on a 1960 Grumman ford bread truck converted into a mobile coffee truck

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Your F-150’s ignition switch has a "Accessory" (ACC) position, which is one click back from "Off." In this position, the electrical systems (like the radio) can run without the engine on. If your key is turned too far back into ACC and left there, it’ll slowly drain the battery—sounds like what might be happening here. The fact you can remove the key in both "Off" and ACC positions suggests the ignition cylinder might be worn out. This is common in older vehicles and can cause the key to stay slightly out of the correct "Off" spot, leading to parasitic draw. Try carefully turning the key to Off and ensuring all accessories shut down. If the problem persists, replacing the ignition lock cylinder might be the fix.
