My odometer read out turns off when i start the engine then comes back on later in down the road

The likely cause is an issue within the odometer in the printed circuit of the instrument cluster. Replacement of the cluster is likely the solution if you can find a replacement. Alternatively, perhaps a repair facility near you will be able to suggest repair of your current printed circuit.
