What is your question?
I was at a tire dealer to get a front end alignment. He told me I couldn't get an alignment because the ball joints were worn out. I got an estimate from an independent repair shop to replace my front end lower ball joints. The technician told me I had to replace the upper and lower ball joints and the "frames" that came with them all at the same time. I am skeptical about this. Is all of this replacement necessary?

for a truck thats 10 years old its not a bad idea to have the upper and lower ball joints replaced on both sides.you dont want a ball joint failure when driving down the road its a ride you will never forget(speaking from experience) not to mention everything else that gets damaged.
The upper ball joints on that truck ar part of the upper control arms. Yes you have to replace them. Use aftermarket arms made by Moog, 1/3 less than the ones from Ford. Replace the lowers also
