Just bought the truck and it just started doing it after about two days after not sure why but runs good when it's cold.has 293000 miles on it but ran strong until this started.Still does run strong when engine is cold.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Doesn't do it until the engine gets warm
How long has your 1997 Ford F-150 had this problem?

Hello, basic engine performance testing will be required - including checking base engine compression (with 293,000 miles -- there definitely could be base engine compression loss), engine timing, ignition spark delivery, fuel delivery, proper air intake and exhaust flow. It's entirely impossible to guess at anything without analyzing and troubleshooting the concerns hands-on.
