What is your question?
Truck has new battery, starter, etc and plenty of battery power. Every now and then it will just crank like it's not getting gas and won't start. One time switched tanks and it started. Other times it just cranks with plenty of battery power on either tank and won't start. Let crank for only a short time 2-3 before backing off the key and shutting down the start process. Keep trying and on 2-3 occasions it did start after 10-12 tries. Starts fine in the morning but then every couple of days won't start after driving and keep trying on both tanks till hopefully it starts. Again it cranks like it's got plenty of battery power but sounds like it's not getting any gas. I just have to keep trying, switching tanks, until hopefully it does start. Current mechanic is baffled. I think he last changed the starter solenoid, I think that's what he called it and it did it again this morning after driving and stopping it wouldn't start but thankfully it did after again 10-12 attempts.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing

Hello, your starter and battery seem to be working just fine, if it cranks and cranks. The no start with a good engine crank can be caused by several things. First, you want to narrow down your concern to see what area it is originating from: Fuel delivery, ignition spark, air intake, engine timing or engine compression. Since you seem to have luck -- coincidental or not -- at times when you switch fuel tanks, I would probably have base fuel pressure at the engine fuel rail tested while the concern is occurring. If it's zero on one tank and registers on the other, then you know you have a good clue. If pressure is consistent and good -- 35-45 PSI when the engine is off and key is on; 30-40 with the engine running -- then look elsewhere. If it's lower, this is a good place to start focusing.
