You are wasting your time to repair the compressor. Replace the compressor, accumulator, orifice tube and flush the condensor. Your truck is 16 years old. I truly dobt that this is the first compressor replaced.
Disconnect the wire going to the air conditioning compressor/compressor clutch out at the compressor to prevent it from engaging that will lessen the load on the belt as the compressor or clutch bearings are failing. If the compressor itself if failing it will shed debris throughout the a/c system, more likely the clutch is failing and it may be a lot simpler to just replace the clutch for the compressor (it is replaceable separately). Parts guy is right after I think about, labor to replace just the clutch, it may be worth looking at time to evacuate a/c system and replace the compressor with a quality brand compressor especially if you plan on keeping the truck long term.
I agree with Patrick . All i would just say if the clutch got that hot i would replace compressor too. It most likelly the heat damaged it.
Ok thanks i did have to remove those 3 rubber garmit things i think that go around bearings cause they were on fire and now when the truck is running that whole plate kind of rattles is that bad to take those out and how long will it run like that for
