What is your question?
The existing wheel is gummy, sticky and nasty. Is there an air bag involved? What's involved with replacing with a more contemporary wheel as I'm slowly restoring this truck. I'd appreciate help/feedback. And, there's only the rear gas tank. Is it worth the $ to install the front gas tank? I suspect something is amiss as, at times, the truck will feel like it's lost power/compression and is just ready to die but it doesn't. I've had it checked out twice but no one can find any problems. I'd appreciate any advise so I'm thanking you in advance.
What makes this problem better or worse?
nothing
How long has your 1994 Ford F-150 had this problem?
not really a "problem" just looks bad

Hello, yes, due to the air bag, for safety you can really only use a Ford steering wheel to replace the existing one. Maybe, instead, obtain a steering wheel cover to avoid the sticky substance. I would not try to retrofit a second fuel tank; too much involved with this to be practical, if it's even possible for your model. As far as performance issues, you simply need an experienced technician with Ford background -- especially not afraid of OBD-I vehicle diagnostic testing -- and you'll be able to resolve your concern. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
