you have internal issues that need to be checked. it may require removal and rebuilding. the E4OD trans is a troublesome trans that requires fluid/filter changes around 40k. any interval missing may cause pre mature failure. Roy

I have 93 f-150 with same engine. I'm having a simular problem and bought some of that 2 in 1 transmission treatment, the next course of action would be a new filter and fluid. I've had to manually downshift to 2nd for smoother operation for the last couple of days. I noticed immediate improvement and drove it on the expressway and got up to 60 mph.It acted like it didn't want to swhift to 3rd when I floored it, it hesitated but took off. The downshift rod should be looked at too, which is what I plan to do. I also have to spray either in throttle-body to get it to fire up.
