1993 f 150 want crank

is there a popping sound after the engine shuts off? if so your timing is probably retarded too much. loosen the distributor and rotate it clockwise about 1/4 inch. tighten and crank. it should start and run a bit longer. if it starts to "ping" then turn it back in small increments until it starts and runs smoothly.
