have to keep foot on gas and brake to keep it running. runs ok when driveing. then the engin light comes on.after 20 minutes of driving.

Need to get that Engine Light code, that will help determine why your truck will not idle.

Most likely a vacuum leak...listen for a hissing noise near the rear of engine against the firewall.
