Gas to diesel conversion

i have a 4 speed 4x4 1988 ford f150 with the gas 5.0 in it standard cab and bed dual tanks and i want to pull out the gas engine and replace it with a diesel engine will i have to get a new transmission and drive-line or if its the same year engine will it bolt up alright

It is such a complex conversion I always tell people that want to do that to sell there own truck and buy the truck they really want. There are so many things that need to be swopped even if you do every bit of the removal and installation your self, you still end up fabricating parts, and and you would need a "doner" truck to begin with that had everything.
