where is the MAF located on a 2018 ford explorer

Hello, very rarely does "cleaning the MAF sensor" yield any positive results. The MAF sensor is in line on the air intake hose from the air box to the throttle body. Be advised that you can actually cause more problems than you'll fix by attempting to clean anything.
