why has my radio STOP working after starter and battery change?

radio worked perfectly okay but when car wouldn't start I got a new battery from auto zone for free and turned out it was the starter so I bought a new one and once my car was up in running I noticed that my interior lights don't turn on any more when I open door or press the button for them. and when I tried turning on the radio, it would just do the screen effect as if it would turn on then the screen would go black. if its on all it displays is clock adjustment or settings for just time or temperature other than that its a black screen with wrong date.
