What is your question?
the power steering is hard to turn at certain times, but now is getting worse. all hoses and pump seem to be fine, but grabs when turning wheel. could the rack and pinion have anything to do with it?
What makes this problem better or worse?
gets worse when warmed up
How long has your 2014 Ford Explorer had this problem?
started in spring, but some mechanic sprayed lubricant on something, and worked better. now worse than before. not sure what he sprayed

Hello, yes, the steering gear could be binding internally causing intermittent difficulty turning the wheel. However, keep in mind that the steering system in this vehicle is fully electronic, and has no power steering pump or hydraulic fluid. So, a power steering control module (PSCM) is involved also, as well as other sensors and motors. Hands on diagnostic testing utilizing proper diagnostic equipment and reference materials is needed.
