What is your question?
Hi. We have a 2014 Ford Explorer LTD, 3.5L 6 cyl non turbo. We have had constant issues. Last year, we paid a Ford dealership to run diagnostics on it and ended up with a $10k estimate. Luckily, my husband is good at almost anything and did all the work himself. Despite all this, it still has 10 codes. They are P0135 (LISTED TWICE - PERMANENT AND STORED), P0175, P0304, PO306, P0420, P219A, P219B, P0430, P2237, PO135. We recently replaced the front struts and sway bar links and bushings, front cv axles, brakes and rotors on all 4 wheels, and front tie rod ends. Within the past 6 months we replaced all 6 spark plugs and fuel injectors, both catalytic converters (OEM Motorcraft), a whole new exhaust system(from cats to mufflers - Walker - direct fit), radiator hose, and motor mounts. Worst symptoms are major loss of power when accelerating, very rough idle (worse when in gear- feels like it's going to stall at red lights.) Still getting a sulfur smell and feel heat
What makes this problem better or worse?
Loss of power and sulfur smell and heat definitely worse when going uphill.
How long has your 2014 Ford Explorer had this problem?
A few months

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. My goodness, if your husband did all the recommended work and you still are having all those codes set - I can't even imagine the estimate assessed and what it was all for. Your codes appear to be misfire related, plus indeed "rich codes". When you clear the codes, do they all come right back? Clearing codes can help you get down to root causes as failures that are still actively occurring. My initial suspicion is that you could have a fuel concern - like an open or leaking injector that is putting too much fuel in and causing misfires and some codes. But it's a wild guess until hands on testing is performed. Reach out to a shop near you for help -- https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554. Thanks so much. Yes, the codes come right back when cleared. I appreciate your help.
All the codes return? I would pull spark plugs to inspect - check for fuel. Diagnostic equipment is kind of essential to determine issues - so consider further testing. Good luck!
Okay. I have freeze frame data and mode 06, and PID. Trying to interpret lol. I will definitely start with checking plugs. You're awesome!
I appreciate all the data — most of my concern is if there is legitimate too much fuel in the cylinders. With all those codes I’m hoping pulling plugs will be obvious in condemning injectors. But I am not sure yet. Feel free to feed back when you check. Good luck!
