What is your question?
The starter has 2 mounting bolts. There are 3 threaded posts on the solenoid. Please tell me where to put the 2 larger black wires and what goes between the 2 nuts on the top mounting bolt? Thank you

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! When connecting the starter on your 2008 Ford Explorer, you’re right that it has two mounting bolts and three threaded posts on the solenoid. Here’s how to connect those wires: 1. **Larger Black Wires**: The two larger black wires typically go to the two larger posts on the solenoid. One is the battery cable (which connects directly to the battery) and the other is the wire leading to the starter motor itself. They should be secured tightly. 2. **Top Mounting Bolt**: Between the two nuts on the top mounting bolt, you'll usually have a spacer or a washer that helps align everything and provides a solid mounting point. Make sure that the bolt is tightened properly to keep the starter securely in place. Double-checking a wiring diagram for your specific model can be helpful to ensure accuracy. If you're unsure about any connections, don’t hesitate to consult a professional for help.
