When I try to accelerate the traction control light flashes and it feels like a brake is being applied. Also a grinding sound / feeling when this happens

Hello, sounds like an active issue with the traction control and anti-lock brake system -- systems that operate from the same components with the same principles. Diagnostic testing measuring speed sensor operation is needed - a tool which can monitor wheel speed will show which wheel is not working as it should be. Then, you can troubleshoot to see if that wheel's sensor is faulty, wiring is compromised or even the tone ring the sensor reads off of could be damaged, cracked or dislodged.
