Hello, first - which engine do you have in your Explorer? The 3.8L V6 engine was never offered in an Explorer. There was a 4.0L V6 in that model year, or a 4.6L V8. Second, no code that any module on any vehicle provides you during a test will direct you to replace any component. There is no "Exhaust Gas Circulation Sensor" in the car. You do have a Differential Pressure Feedback Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor, which is tube mounted on some engines to the driver's side of intake manifold. But replacing this part or any part as a guess can get expensive. I highly suggest a qualified technician have a look at your Explorer to determine the cause of your check engine light.
