O/D light flashing

I have a friend who's explore was doing the same thing minus doing it now as well when you get to about 3000 RPMs you let off the gas and it shift to second and after that there are no problems with the shifting but when you stop you have to repeat the process it is more than likely a solenoid there is a solenoid pack in the pan when you take down the transmission pan there are eight bolts that hold it on There are approximately 18 to 20 bolts that hold the pan they are 8 mm bolts and may as well change the transmission filter while you're there

The transmission has a problem, the flashing light means the computer has detected something wrong. Someone needs to pull the diagnostic info from the computer and perform a diagnosis. Find an ATRA shop near you and get it looked at.
