Power steering pump is different from 05/17/2003, my truck was built on 05/21/2003 have dealer paperwork so i know, i need to know what pump to order before taking off truck, i don't have another car, so I'll start on a Friday just incase, junkyards are open on Saturdays, I've replaced the grooved pully but wasn't it. I believe its the pump and my sin is getting his permit, i need it done so i can teach him how to drive plus the vehicle must be in good working order for driving test for license, I'm gonna replace the high pressure line at the same time, on pump theres a sticker and has some letters and numbers with a bar code, this is it.( HBD-DV THEN BAR CODE LELOW IT, THEN THIS PART #3E B02 03 ) now thats the red &white sticker on it, I want a pump with a steal pulley on it already so I'm not wasting time nor taking any vjances of ruining bearing or shaft, I've seen that people have ruined new pump by using shop press to put on, 1 guy is taking off fan to take pump out, he bangs on fan nut with a hammer on yhe wrench part to loosen it then he tightens it the same, bangs on end on wrench to tighten fan, i think I can do it without taking fan off, he goes as far to removing top radiator hose, now thats just nor wise advise unless it needing done but not said so, i just put new fluid about a year ago or 9,000 miles, please I'm disabled and dont have money to pay people, I'm always eorked on my own cars because my father worked for GM in 1987 ehen je had to retire due to having cancer and dying, so i always heloed him as yoing as 4 years old on handed him wrenches, then i took shop automotive for 3 year's and passed with flying COLORS, just wasn't good with the new computer machines we started getting, computers in car's made me change my mind on following my dream to fix car's for a living, this SUV i bought off 1 of my friend's with a hand shake he would fix it when it needed since he has a lift at his home GARAGE thats 4 bay's, for personal use only but he does side work for exyra money and he's a better mechanic than me, its the only reasonvwhy i bought this Explorer for, because his stuff is always top of the line on rumning, body might look old because he's no body man ans if i could, i would recommend him to have his 1966 chevy 2 drive done over for him, it was his 1st vehicle that he got and drove many years until buying another truck then building a 1962 4x4 but paint is ok on it, someone dis him a favor, if i could paint that, i would, but he's been not answering my calks or text, so he haven't fixed my truck in almost 2 years, i did a tube up on it and replaced all coil packs because after a month of owning it, it threw a #5 &6 cyclinder code, replaced both and he cleared codes, well it happened 3 time's, well he was busy and told me to unplug battery and replace coul pack, i bought 8 nrw 1s in a package deal and put new plugs in to, well #5 &6 plugs with #4 was loose like 5 was half out, most likely why it threw the code for, I'm gonna check them all again jyst to make sure, my thing is that it idkes at 9000 rpm and at isle befire was 6 rpm's and i got 15 to 16 mpg city and 21 on highway at 57 mph with cruise control on, now I'm getting only 9.5 miles a gallon and my tires are filled every week, i bought my own pancake compressure, and i drain the airtank so no water in it. Tires leak at BEADS AND VALVE STEM I BELIEVE. Junk magnesium Wheels with corrosion on inside obviously tires only have 20,000 miles on them, they chsrge $25 to fix and its good for 3 months only, i need a machine so i can do myself or buy a set online for cheap money and blast them and paint them up. From Woonsocket RI, it will just about kill me to fix it but i have no choice at all, don't have stupid money to replace the pump, with lift only 2 hours in my opinion of labor, pump is only $44 for reman A-1Cardone pump eith a $50 core that I'll get back, the line is only $18 on high pressure line from pump to gear which i believe its direct to rackopinion steering rack. Then $5 for power steering fluid and flush. What seems to make the problem better or worse? Just whines all the time, no change in sound How long have you had this problem?
