What is your question?
I was in the middle of turning, power steering shut down, and then no power, nothing. Waited about five minutes, then it restarted as if nothing happened. I'm scared to drive with my little kids in it now. What could it be?

If you lost all power to the vehicle, radio, and gauges you may possibly have a bad battery or a bad connection at the battery. A bad connection at the battery would cause the vehicle to die and since it's just a bad connection it may have made a good connection again allowing the vehicle to start.
Crankshaft position sensors can cause that and most of the time it does not throw a check engine light. Hard to diagnose if it is intermittent.
I would check the power wire that comes off the positive cable. Wiggle that wire while the car is running and if it shuts down you have found your proble. If it does not shut down you probably have a crankshaft sensor problem. Intermittent problems are very difficult to diagnose.
I don't think its the battery, it's fairly new and under warranty. I was thinking that it must be something else for it to stop while running. Usually when it's the battery, it just doesn't start. I replaced the fuel filter on Sat, I drove it today, but I'm still not convinced it's okay yet. I just am trying not to take it to mechanic. We just took my hubby's buick in last month to fix a fuel pump and something else on it. Just don't have alot of extra money to sink into another car repair. Thanks for your reply.
