my overdrive off light flashes while driving

This light indicates a transmission issue - and there is stored information in the engine's procecssor that will help diagnose the problem. Are you experiencing any driving issues? Could be a solenoid issue, could be a wiring issue, could be an internal failure. Need a good diagnosis to start.

I'm having the exact problem with my 1999 Ford Explorer...Eddie Bowers Edition...6 cylinder. I had the transmission rebuilt a few years ago...so I'm hoping it's only a failed overdrive off switch. I dropped it off at Transplant Transmissions this morning...same outfit that overhauled the tranny a few years ago. Keeping my fingers crossed that this doesn't cost a bundle...It cost me $3000.00 the first time...NOT gonna spend that much on her again!
