The truck kept overheating i replaced all the hoses and water pump and thermostat it leaked before the repairs in the front after that it still has a little leak in the front but now it leaks from the back and white smoke is coming out the muffler and it keeps overheating and the heater doesn't work anymore the engine makes a weird noise somethimes it dies on me while driving the coolant radiators top keeps coming off didn't do that before when i put in reverse it lags to reverse that never happened before the repairs my friend who fixed it says it might be the head gaskets got fried cause it overheated on me too many times i desperately need to know how to fix it or if it is worth fixing? Please help
What makes this problem better or worse?
When I'm in a stop sign or light it makes it worse heats up faster

Which engine do you have? 4.0L SOHC V6? 4.0L OHV V6? 5.0L V8? This matters a great deal, as each engine has it's own idiosyncrasies. The 4.0L OHV V6 around this time frame did have an issue where there could be a cylinder head breach -- probably from the head itself being cracked though -- not so much the gasket. If it's this engine (VIN code is X), then regardless -- you need professional assistance. The 4.0L SOHC V6 didn't really have an issue with cooling system issues, nor did the 5.0L V8. However, any engine can have problems develop, especially with repetitive overheating. In any case, hands on inspection is entirely needed. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
