the steering on my explorer floats. has to much play

All the suspension bushings and steering linkages need to checked for play. also look at the wheel bearings to see if they have play. if the Explorer has higher mileage and all the bushings and tie rod ends are all OK the steering box might be worn and need a little adjustment but not to much or it will bind.
